28th April: Children’s Book Launch for Great Voyages: Daring Adventurers from James Cook to Gertrude Bell

All aboard for a fun book launch at Hungerford Library! Local children’s author Deborah Patterson will be celebrating the publication of her latest book Great Voyages (published this April).

Discover the world through the eyes of the greatest explorers in history. From Marco Polo and Magellan to Shackleton and Armstrong, Great Voyages takes the reader on the most exhilarating and heroic expeditions ever made.

Deborah will be taking young adventurers on a journey around the globe. They choose where they would like to go on a map, and Deborah will reveal a fascinating true story inspired by that place.

Will you freeze to death in the North West passage, or face lions in Africa with David Livingstone? Perhaps you’ll survive attacks from hostile tribes with Gertrude Bell.

Collect a special ticket from the bookshop and get £1 off the book at the event – or any children’s book at The Hungerford Bookshop until the end of May. And, as if that wasn’t enough, there will also be free cake!

Suitable for age 6+. Children to be accompanied by an adult.

3pm Hungerford Library, Saturday 28 April. Free event (but we recommend collecting your special ticket from the bookshop)
